Go Green - Get Involved

What Can You Do?

Green Volunteers: Surprise is committed to growing a sustainable city for the future and we need your help to do that. The Economic Development Department is on the lookout for residents who have technical or business experience in sustainable industries that may be able to assist our team in attracting such industries to Surprise. So, if you have experience in "green" construction, biofuels, post-consumer recycling, and other related industries please contact

Adopt-a-Street: this program is aimed at keeping Surprise clean and beautiful. Individuals and groups may volunteer to pick up trash along a one-mile stretch. For more information, call 623.222.6000 or download the Adopt-A-Street Program brochure.

Sustainable Water Use Guide: this useful site includes a water saving plant database to help homeowners select low-water plants. Also included are indoor water conservation tips, plant watering guide and more... Click here to visit the sustainable water use guide.
