USA Club Swimming - Surprise Storm
Surprise offers a year round competitive swimming program that competes within the valley, state and beyond. The program focuses on learning technical skills required for athletes to train and improve speed & endurance while competing at a higher level. Participants must try out for this program. Training fees are billed monthly and each athlete is required to pay an annual registration fee which includes a membership to USA Swimming.

Recreational Swim & Dive Teams
Surprise offers two recreational swim and dive teams that compete in the West Valley Swim League which consists of teams from the City of Surprise and City of Peoria. Practices Start: Tuesday, May 30th. Practices are generally Mon. - Thurs. with meets and special events on Friday and Saturdays.
Try-outs and registration for NEW members (residents): Saturday, May 6th from 8- 11am at the Surprise Aquatic Center. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and backstroke continuously and demonstrate all four competitive strokes. There will also be dive try outs the same day. Past participant can start registering on May 1st, but registration must be in person, in order to verify past membership. Non-residents may register Monday, May 8th but must have participated in tryouts.

Swordfish & Tsunami Beginning Dive
This class is for participants new to diving or may have 1 year of experience but can not perform a back dive for competition.
Swordfish & Tsunami Intermediate Dive
This class is for participants who may have 1 - 2 years experience and can perform 1 back dive for competition.
Swordfish & Tsunami Advanced Dive
This class is for participants who may 2+ years experience, a full diving schedule, and/or high school diving experience.
Junior Coaches Program:
The City of Surprise Swim and Dive Teams often invite 6 - 8 former or current swim team members between 14 - 17 who would like to volunteer their time and talent to help support the teams as a 2017 Junior Coach. The primary duties would include supporting the Swim Coaches during team practices and swim meets, offering young swimmers tips to
improve their skills, and allow coaches to conduct practices in a safe manner.
